Sauk Centre Hay Auctions Nov 17 to Dec 15

I am posting summary of all tested hay lots and bedding materials sold on Nov. 17, Dec. 1, Dec. 15... grouped by kind of hay, type of bale, hay by 25 RFV points, grass by protein groups. Consider average carefully when based on a limited number of entries.

It doesn't take rocket science to say hay prices are higher this year compared to last year. Medium Square straw bales are running mostly in a $20 to $40 per bale range.

SE MN in Rochester - Feb 6
SW MN in Lamberton - Feb 7
Central MN in Greenwald - Feb 8 (south of Melrose)
NE MN in Cromwell - Feb 9
Richard Muck, USDA Forage Research Center at Madison Wisconsin will be the common featured speaker, address topic on the order of "Management Options to make great silage" and "Silage Additive - when to use them" related to corn silage and haylage.

Select "hay" in the middle of the page. I like the East River South Dakota Market as another close "market" with a "dairy" influence. This is not an auction, but rather a USDA survey with buyers and sellers in eastern South Dakota.
