Samples from the farms marked with an *asterisk are from the previous report yet. I will aim to update the report linked in this posting later in the day on Friday May 29 with any other lab samples that come in.

The May 28 Note section offers some discussion about variations and trends… and discussion at one site where 14 inch crop appears to be maturing – not very much different now that taller plants in the field.

Many fields are not very normal with stress from last growing season and through the winter. The weather continues to be another guessing game. So this information might be useful in some situations; and farmers draw on past experience with growing and feeding hay crops, and take their best shot at what they think makes sense on their farm.

For many farms, it's at or close to a time for thinking about how you want to approach harvest. d

Please let me know if something looks to be in error.

Please say “Thanks to Cooperating Sponsors and Cooperators when you see them.

…and encourage a SAFE hay harvest.
