Two Conferences Dedicated to Soil Fertility for Crop Production and Environmental Stewardship

Registration is open for two important conferences dedicated to soil fertility for crop production and environmental stewardship. These events were co-organized by the University of Minnesota Extension and the Minnesota Agricultural Water Resource Center (MAWRC) with a common planning committee to bring the latest advancements in nutrient management presented by University of Minnesota and other university researchers, fertilizer industry experts, and state agency personnel.

The first event, the 9th Annual Nutrient Management Conference will be held on Tuesday February 7, 2017 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This conference will cover topics ranging from nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to fertilizer amendments and from agronomic management to concerns with nutrients in the environment. More information and registration can be accessed here. To register by phone, or for more information, call Jerome Lensing at 507-251-9101.

The second event, the 3rd Annual Nitrogen: Minnesota's Grand Challenge and Compelling Opportunity Conference will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, MN. The conference is focused entirely on nitrogen management for crop production and environmental quality. Topics will range from nitrogen sources and climate trends to accounting for nitrogen credits and in-season nitrogen management. More information and registration can be accessed here. To register by phone, or for more information, call Fabián Fernández at 612-625-7460.

These events will provide very useful information regarding profitable management of nutrients for crop production and environmental protection. Farmers, crop advisors and other nutrient management professionals are encouraged to attend. Both events will provide opportunity for Certified Crop Advisors to earn Continuing Education Units.

These conferences are sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Minnesota Agricultural Water Resource Center, and University of Minnesota Extension,
along with numerous agricultural businesses and organizations. For a full list of sponsors, download the agenda for each conference. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, registration for each event is only $20, which can be paid on-line at the time or registration or at the door.
