Join next week's Field Notes discussion on stand emergence and establishment

An all-new weekly crops program from the University of Minnesota Extension Crops Team!

Join us Wednesday, May 19th for Field Notes when we welcome University of Minnesota Extension agronomists Seth Naeve, Jochum Wiersma, and Jeff Coulter to talk about stand establishment and related scouting, especially considering current dry soil conditions across much of the state.

While the weather this year allowed for early planting, the dry conditions have left many growers wondering about seed they either just planted or have had in the ground for a while as they as they wait for better growing conditions. Are the seedlings finding what subsoil moisture remains? What can I be proactive about for stand establishment? When is it better to take a wait-and-see approach? We will discuss these environmental conditions along with other early-season crop considerations on the next Field Notes program on Wednesday, May 19th at 7:30am.
