Respirator fit testing-train the trainer and Worker Protection Standards workshops April 19, 20 & 21

Protecting pesticide applicators and other agricultural workers from pesticide injuries is the goal of the EPA’s Worker Protection Standard safety training. Properly fitted respirators will help ensure that yourself or employees are protected from airborne pesticide contamination.

The UMN Pesticide Safety and Environmental Education Program is hosting three identical workshops, "Respirator Fit Testing – Train the Trainer" and "Worker Protection Standards (WPS):" 

Session 1: Respirator Fit Testing-Train the Trainer (class size is limited for this session)

This workshop is for anyone interested in being trained to offer and conduct respirator fit-testing services to pesticide applicators or workers in agricultural or other pesticide related job functions. All participants will receive a completion certificate, resources, and respirator fit test guide.

Free respirator fit-testing kits ($199 value) will be given to the first 50 organizations who register for Session 1 or the combined Sessions 1 & 2. (limit 1 kit per organization)

Session 2: Worker Protection Standard (WPS)

This workshop is for anyone who works in agriculture as a producer, commercial or noncommercial applicator, contract agricultural worker employer or anyone else interested in the Worker Protection Standard.

Workshop fees

  • Session 1-only: $75
  • Session 2-only: $30
  • Combined sessions 1 & 2: $100 (includes lunch)
