- Basic crop diagnostics and tools of the trade

- Scouting and decision making for corn rootworm, European corn borer, alfalfa insects and soybean gall midge
- Understanding by using the visual (original corn seed types planted) history of the development of F1 hybrid field corn from the 1920's through today and its effect on today's genetics
