Register for an Advancing Ag webinar on cover crops

Benefits of cover crops in regions with limited growing conditions will be the topic of discussion at the SWROC’s April Advancing Ag webinar on Wednesday, April 28th at 11 a.m. To register for this free webinar, visit z.umn.edu/advancing-ag.

Associate Professor Axel Garcia y Garcia will lead a panel discussion covering a range of cover crops and soil health topics including regenerative agriculture to enhance carbon sequestration and credit, digital technologies to enhance cover crop management, and the economic considerations behind cover crop decisions. Panelists include:
  • José Hernández, Senior Agronomic Data Scientist at Indigo Agriculture
  • William Lazarus, Professor and Extension Economist at the University of Minnesota
  • Guillermo Marcillo, Ag Systems Modeler at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
  • Jay Norton, Professor and Soils Extension Specialist at University of Wyoming
This diverse panel of researchers will engage in a dialogue about cover crops with one another and take questions from participants. Participants are encouraged to submit questions upon registration or to come to the webinar with questions in mind.

Advancing Ag events free to attend but participants must pre-register at z.umn.edu/advancing-ag. The webinar will be recorded and posted on YouTube at a later date. Certified crop advisors can self-apply for CEUs.
